Bulky Waste such as furniture, lumber, carpeting, etc. should be placed on the curb on your second schedule day of the week depending on your location.

Cut It & Leave It Program
Grass clipping are a major source of waste collected by the Department of Public Works. In this program the City of Rahway currently collects yard waste separately from other waste types. Yard waste items include grass clippings, leaves and branches which are sent to a composting facility. This process has a financial obligation for every tax payer in our community.

Keeping Rahway Clean
New Jersey Clean Communities is a statewide, comprehensive, litter-abatement program created by the passage of the Clean Communities Act in 1986. The Act provides a funding source for the program and guidelines for the use of funds. Municipalities and counties receive Clean Communities grants in the form of state-aid each year.

Recycling Program
Rahway prides itself on having a proactive, comprehensive recycling program that makes it easy for our community to participate. As solid waste disposal costs continue to rise, recycling is taking on added importance. By recycling the items listed in the schedule attached and preparing these items properly, you can help reduce our costs for solid waste disposal, help preserve our environment, improve quality of life and save tax dollars.

Used motor oil is accepted at the Main Street Fire Department on Saturdays between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

White Goods & Scrap Metal
Items such as washers, dryers, metal pipes, etc. are collected curbside by appointment only. Please contact 732-827-2159 to arrange for collection.
