IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE NOV. 5th GENERAL ELECTION
3 Ways to Vote in 2024
- Vote at your Polling Place on Election Day on Nov. 5th
- Choose to vote early between Oct. 26th and Nov. 3rd
- Vote by Mail by requesting a mail in ballot by Oct. 29th
VOTE AT YOUR POLLING PLACE ON ELECTION DAY
The locations of five polling locations in Rahway for the November 5th, 2024 General Election.
- Ward 1, Districts 1 & 2 Rahway Recreation Center, 275 East Milton Ave.
- Ward 1, Districts 3 & 4 Kennedy Apartments, 224 West Grand Ave.
- Ward 2, Districts 1-4 St. Thomas the Apostle Church Church Hall 1410 Church St
- Ward 3, Districts 1-5 Knights of Columbus Council #1146 Rental Hall 80 W. Inman Ave.
- Ward 4, Districts 1-3 Rahway Recreation Center, 275 East Milton Ave.
- Ward 5, Districts 1-4 Rahway Senior Citizens Center, 1306 Esterbrook Ave.
- Ward 6, Districts 1-4 American Legion Post 5 Rental Hall 581 Maple Ave.

Voters are reminded to check their sample ballots when they arrive in the mail for the location of their specific polling site. Polls are open on Election Day between 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM.
EARLY VOTING INFORMATION
Location: Rahway Recreation Center, 275 East Milton Avenue, Room 112
The Rahway Recreation Center will once again be an early voting location for all registered Union County voters. Voters may cast their ballot at the Recreation Center on the following dates and times:
- Saturday. Oct. 26, 2024: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Monday, Oct. 28, 2024: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Friday, Nov. 1, 2024: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Other Important Election Dates
A compiled list of all important dates for election and voting:
- 8/2- Deadline for objections to School Board candidates nominating petitions
- 8/8- Deadline for Determination of Petition Challenge for School Board petitions
- 8/12- General Election and School Board Election Ballot Position Drawing at 3 p.m. (County Clerk)
- 8/27- Last day for a candidate nominated in the Primary Election to withdraw from the General Election
- 10/15- Last day to register to vote for the General Election. Registration forms must be postmarked or received by Municipal Clerks on this date
- 10/22- Deadline for filing for appointments or applications for Challengers with the Union County Board of Elections for the General Election and School Board Election
- 10/26- Early Voting begins for the General Election and ends on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
- 10/29- Last Day to apply by mail for a Mail-in Ballot for the General Election
- 11/2- Special opening from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. of the County Clerk Offices in Elizabeth and Westfield to apply for a Mail-In Ballot for the General Election
- 11/3- Early Voting for the General Election ends
- 11/4- Last day to apply in person for a Mail-In Ballot before 3 p.m. in the County Clerk Offices in Elizabeth and Westfield
- 11/5- General Election Day: Polls are open from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.
VOTE BY MAIL
The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot for the primary election is Oct. 29, 2024. Applications are available online or at the County and City Clerk’s Offices, and completed ballots may be mailed or deposited in the secure drop box located next to the Recreation Center. All Ballot Drop Boxes will close on November 5th, 2024 at 8:00 PM.
